A blender isn’t the first thing you think of packing for a camping trip. But we’ve been going to the Hunter Valley a lot lately, a bit closer to home, and the area is full of fresh fruit stalls. A smoothie made from fruit you bought at the roadside an hour ago is hard to beat.
The NutriBullet Flip is a portable, rechargeable blender built into an insulated stainless steel cup. We’ve used it on a few recent trips, and it has earned its place in the camp kitchen.

What You’re Getting
A portable blender with an 11.1 V motor base and blade that twists onto an insulated 590 ml stainless steel cup. It comes with a separate to-go lid, a stainless steel straw, a cleaning brush, a blade cover and a USB-C charging cable with a charging block.

How it works
The name says it. The motor and blade sit in the lid. You fill the cup, twist the lid on, flip the whole thing upside down and press the button. When it’s done, you flip it back and drink.
Inside the cup there are measuring marks and a max line, so you can see how much to put in.

Blending
It blends really well. Each press of the button runs one 30-second blending cycle, and that turned our fruit into a proper smoothie.
Crushing ice works well too, which is handy for late afternoon drinks.

Battery and charging
A full charge gave us up to 12 blending cycles, which is plenty for a weekend. It charges by USB-C, and the charging time goes reasonably quick.

Insulation and the to-go lid
The insulation is pretty good. If we make the smoothie the day before, we just put the whole thing in the fridge, and it’s ready to go in the morning.
It’s handy that it comes with a separate twist-on to-go lid. You take the motor lid off, twist the to-go lid on, and the blender is a normal insulated cup. The to-go lid is not leakproof, so keep the cup upright. A stainless steel straw comes with it too, though we haven’t really used it a whole lot.

Packing it
It can be slightly bulky, and it’s annoying to pack in the car, because it rolls around if you don’t stow it next to other items. Overall it’s still pretty compact for what you get.
Conclusion: NutriBullet Flip Portable Blender
The NutriBullet Flip blends really well, crushes ice, charges reasonably quickly and gave us up to 12 blends on a full battery. The insulation is pretty good, and the separate to-go lid turns it into a cup you can drink from on the road. It’s slightly bulky, it rolls around in the car unless you wedge it in, and the to-go lid isn’t leakproof. If you pass fruit stalls on the way to camp, it’s a nice thing to have along.

Yes. I paid $100, and for that you get a blender that really blends plus an insulated cup with a to-go lid. If fresh smoothies at camp aren’t your thing, it’s money and space you can save.
