The Aimall Silicone Collapsible Kettle is a 1 litre camp kettle with silicone walls that fold down flat and a stainless steel base that goes on the stove. It weighed about 270 g on our scale, and we’ve taken it on a few trips for a quick morning coffee. I paid $50 for it, less than the Sea to Summit collapsible kettle we also use.
What You’re Getting
A khaki silicone kettle with a stainless steel base, a clear lid with a pour spout and a grey folding handle. Collapsed, it’s a flat disc you can slide into a kitchen box or the side of a pack, with the handle wrapped around it. Pull the walls up and it pops into shape, ready to fill.

Folding it flat
Folding flat is the whole point, and it works. Push the walls down and the kettle closes to a low disc, so it takes a fraction of the space of a metal kettle in a kitchen box. Pull the top up and it springs back into shape. The design is simple, with no parts to lose, and it has felt sturdy enough on every trip.

Boiling water on the stove
The stainless steel base sits on the burner and heats quickly, so a litre of water for coffee doesn’t take long on a small gas canister stove. A label on the lid warns not to expose the walls to flame: the flame has to stay under the steel base, so use a small burner on a low to medium flame. It isn’t made for a campfire.

Silicone doesn’t hold heat the way metal does, so once it’s off the stove the water cools faster. That’s fine for a coffee made straight away, less so if you want a second cup ten minutes later. With a litre of hot water inside, the walls flex if you grip them, so lift and pour with the handle.
Fill lines and cleaning
There are cup marks on the outside, at 2, 3 and 4 cups with a max safe fill line, and lines inside at 500 ml, 750 ml and 1 litre. That makes it easy to boil just what you need, which saves gas. The lid opening is wide, so you can wipe the inside and let it dry before folding it away.

We’ve also tested two metal kettles. The Boundless Voyage titanium kettle is lighter and can go on any flame, but it holds 700 ml and doesn’t fold. The Adventure Kings camping kettle holds 2 litres and costs far less, but it’s bulky. The Aimall wins on packed size.

Yes, if space matters. I paid $50, and it folds flat in a way no metal kettle can. If you want water to stay hot or you cook on a fire, a metal kettle suits you better.
