Paper towel is one of those things you reach for all the time at camp, and a loose roll is always blowing away, getting wet or picking up dirt. This no-name camping paper towel holder keeps the kitchen roll in a fabric case you can hang up, with a covered slot to pull a sheet out. We’ve used it for a few months on weekend trips, and we like that it’s sturdy and has lots of ways to clip or hang it.

What’s in the box
A long, black fabric holder that takes a standard kitchen paper towel roll. You load it through a zip at the end, and the towel comes out of a slot on the front under a flap that closes with velcro. On the back, a webbing strap and D-rings let you hang it from a tree, the car or the camp kitchen. It’s a no-name holder: ours has a “Cool Camp” patch, and on Amazon it’s sold under the Pomya name. It’s surprisingly good and sturdy, though. We paid $35.

Weight and the towel slot
Empty, the holder weighs 126 g on our scale. The towel comes out of a slot on the front, under a flap that closes with velcro.

Hanging it up
Hang it by its strap from a branch, a tent pole or the side of the car, and the flap keeps the roll covered between uses, out of the dirt and the dew. With the strap and the D-rings there are plenty of ways to clip or hang it, which is what we like most about it.

With the toilet roll holder
The same manufacturer also makes a toilet roll holder in the same style, and the two make a matching pair: one for the kitchen, one for the toilet. The toilet roll holder is the cheaper of the two, at about $15.

Yes. I paid $35, and after a few months of weekend trips it's still the sturdy, easy-to-hang holder for our kitchen roll.
