We’ve already reviewed the original Kings Roll-Up Camp Table, so we wanted to see how much more table the large version gives you. The Kings Large Aluminium Roll-Up Camp Table gives you a 141 × 70.5 cm aluminium top at a full 71 cm dining height, on a powder-coated steel frame rated to 50 kg. We took it on a few camping trips up the NSW coast, as a workspace and as our dining table.
What’s in the box
A large folding camp table with a roll-up aluminium slat top on a powder-coated steel frame and legs. Set up, it’s 141 × 70.5 cm and 71 cm high, and it’s rated to 50 kg. The frame and the rolled-up top go into the included heavy-duty carry bag of 78 × 24 × 18 cm. Kings says it has 92% more table space than the original, which matches the numbers: 141 × 70.5 cm against 94 × 55 cm. We paid $150.

What’s in the bag
The folded steel frame and the rolled-up aluminium top both go into one heavy-duty carry bag of 78 × 24 × 18 cm. Packed, it weighs 7.7 kg on our scale.

Setting it up
Setup takes us 30 to 60 seconds. You fold out the frame, lift the side rails up and onto the locking pins, then lay the rolled slat top out, slide each end slat into its locking position and drop the rest of the slats in between the rails.

At camp
The size is the big win: there’s far more room than on a standard compact camp table, whether you use it as a workspace or a dining table. The aluminium top doesn’t rust, handles heat well and wipes clean. Like most roll-up tables, it has gaps between the slats, so crumbs, sand and small items can fall through or get stuck. The 50 kg rating is plenty for food, a camp stove and gear, but lower than a heavy-duty solid-top folding table. On sand, mud or soft grass the feet can sink in, so set it up on flat, firm ground.

Weight and packing
The trade-off for the bigger top is weight. The steel frame makes it heavier than an all-aluminium table: with everything in its carry bag it weighed 7.7 kg on our scale. That’s 2.4 kg more than the original Kings Roll-Up, and the bag is 78 × 24 × 18 cm, 10 cm longer. Stood on end, the 78 cm bag comes up close to the 93 cm height of our Kings Deluxe Armchair.

Kings table comparison
Kings sells two roll-up tables, and we’ve reviewed both. The original suits couples, solo campers and quick stops; the Large suits families, groups and a full camp kitchen. Both are rated to 50 kg.

Yes. I paid $150, which is good value for a table this size with a steel frame and an aluminium top that handles heat.
