The Skechers Memory Foam Car Seat Covers are absolutely great. We used to have Kings seat covers in our Prado, but these are much better: they fit snug over the front seats, the material feels quite premium for the price, and after more than six months of use they’re still in good condition. I paid $70 for the pair of front covers.
What’s in the box
Two front seat covers with matching headrest covers, to protect the factory seats from scuffs, dust and spills and make them a bit softer. The front of each cover, the side you sit on, has a breathable black mesh centre with the Skechers S logo, leather-look sides and memory foam padding, and there’s a pocket on the back. They have a three-panel, form-fitting layout made to fit most bucket seats in cars, trucks, vans and SUVs, and the side seams are stitched so the seat’s side airbags can still deploy. Ours are Black/Black; they also come in Brown and in black with Beige, Green, Brown, Grey, Blue, Red, Pink, Purple or Orange accents:

Fit on our Prado
This is where they beat the Kings covers we had before. They pull over the front seats and fit snug, and they look sharp in the Prado. A wedge anchor and straps or Velcro hold the base in place, the bottom of the cover stretches around the seat base so the seat adjusters stay free, and fitting both front seats takes about 15 minutes. Being universal covers, they can slide or bunch up slightly at times when you get in and out.
We also bought the matching rear seat cover, but that wasn’t a great option: it was basically a surface to hang over the back seat, with nothing to pull it tight around the seats, so we returned it.

Materials and comfort
I love the texture of these. The front side, where you sit, feels quite premium for the price: a fine mesh in the middle with leather-look panels on the sides, with memory foam padding underneath. The mesh keeps the air moving, so it’s noticeably less sweaty on a hot day than vinyl or leather. The Skechers logo is quite prominent on the front, but we don’t mind it. After at least six months of getting in and out of the car, they’re still in good condition.

The back and the headrests
The back of the covers is a thinner, stretchy fabric. It’s OK, a bit flimsy compared with the front, but nobody sits on it, so that’s fine for us. It has a pocket that’s handy for a road atlas. The headrest covers are the one thing that doesn’t fit well: they’re a bit too big for our headrests, so they sit a little loose. That’s about it.

Skechers or Kings seat covers?Skechers or Kings?
Before these, our Prado had the Kings Heavy Duty Seat Covers. They’re cheaper and have a waterproof coating, but they’re universal, so they sat very loose on our seats, and with no separate headrest cover they made the seats look very large. The Skechers covers fit snug and feel far better to sit on.
