Every car has those small things that never have a place: sunnies, a wallet, the UHF, the camp cutlery. The Kings Plus Pocket Organiser is a padded canvas pocket that sticks on wherever you need it. Ours lives on the inside of the Prado’s tailgate and holds the cutlery and plates, right where we need them when the tailgate is up at camp. Before this, I tried to rig up hanging organisers on the back of the rear door; this replaced all of that. I paid $45 for it, and it’s one of the best investments we’ve made.
What’s in the box
A grey canvas pocket from the Kings Plus range, about 26 × 20 cm and 3.5 cm thick, with hook and loop strips to mount it. The canvas is 370 GSM with reinforced stitching, the inside has open-cell foam padding, and there’s one large pocket with three small pockets inside it. The pockets have no zip or proper flap. A strip of velcro along the inside lets you close the top, but it isn’t properly sealed. That doesn’t bother us: the pocket is stuck on permanently, so nothing falls out, and we like having access to everything all the time. We carry too much in ours to close it anyway.

Amazon also sells a 2-pack of the Kings Plus Pocket Organiser. When we checked, the 2-pack was actually cheaper than a single one, so it’s worth comparing before you buy.

Mounting it
The back of the pocket has hook strips sewn on, and the box comes with both sides of the tape, with adhesive on the back. That means it goes on a soft surface like a dash mat or a cloth seat, where the hook side grips the fabric, or on a hard surface like the side of a fridge, where you stick on the loop strips first.

Peel the backing off the adhesive strips, press them on and the pocket is in place. Keep in mind that the adhesive strips are there to stay, so pick the spot before you stick them on. Kings suggests the dash for your phone, wallet and sunnies, or the side of a fridge for matches, fire-lighters, a bottle opener or a tyre deflator.

On our tailgate
We stuck ours on the inside of the Prado’s tailgate. It just stuck to the back door straight away. Closed up, it’s a neat grey pocket that sits flat on the door panel, and it has been there for over 6 months now, on rough trips, with a lot of cutlery and plates in it, and it won’t come off in any way. The materials are great and strong.

Open it up and it holds the camp cutlery, a pair of tongs and a stack of plates, so when the tailgate is up at camp, the kitchen gear is right there at hand height.

Conclusion: Kings Plus Pocket OrganiserConclusion
The Kings Plus Pocket Organiser is a padded 370 GSM canvas pocket with one large and three small pockets that sticks on almost anywhere with hook and loop strips. On the inside of our tailgate it gives the camp cutlery and plates a home at hand height. It stuck on straight away and has stayed put for over 6 months of rough trips, and it replaced all the hanging organisers we tried before. It’s one of the best investments we’ve made. At $45 it’s great value, and the 2-pack can be an even better deal.
